Alpha Cement Constituent

Alpha cement constituent is a high specification pozzolan derived from fly ash.
Key benefits of Alpha are:

It exceeds the specifications required for BS EN 450-1:2005.
It is predominantly composed of spherical aluminosilicate particles.
It has a low residual carbon content.
It has a similar particle size distribution to CEM1.
It has a consistent colour.
It has a low unit cost.
It provides continuous strength development in concrete in combination with CEM1.
It imparts improved durability and chemical resistance to concrete.
Is available in dry powder form for collection from our silos

Alpha cement constituent has the following guideline specifications:
Parameter Value
Retained on a 45 micron sieve - % <7% (EN450 - Category S <12%)
Loss on ignition at 950°C typically 5% (EN450 - Category A)
Particle density 2200-2400kg/m3
Sulphate content as SO3 <1%
Chloride ion content <0.1%
Bulk density 800-1000 kg/m3
BS EN450 Pozzolanic Activity Index (90 days) 95-115% (EN450 - 90 day 85%)
BS EN450 Water requirement <95% of control
Free CaO content <1%
