BCA	British Cement Association
BPFA	Beneficiated PFA, produced by the RockTron process and graded Alpha or Delta
BS 3892	The former British Standard specifications for PFA used in concrete and cementitious grouts, now superseded by EN450
BS EN 450	The new European Standard replacing BS 3892
C	Abbreviation for carbon, e.g. %C is percentage carbon content
CC Fly Ashes	Co-combustion fly ashes are produced when materials other than pulverised coal (such as biomass) are fired with the coal. References and claims made on this site do not refer to such ashes but to fly ash as defined in this glossary
CEM1	Portland cement type 1 conforming to BS EN-197-1, formerly known as Ordinary Portland Cement or OPC
The 'Company' or RockTron	RockTron Limited, or where the context requires a subsidiary of RockTron Limited
EMS	Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)
Fly Ash	This website uses the term Fly Ash to describe PFA (Pulverised Fuel Ash) which is the more precise term for fly ashes produced from electricity generating power stations burning pulverised hard coals.

PFA	Pulverised Fuel Ash, the lightweight residue from burning pulverised hard coal in power stations
Pozzolan	A fine grained siliceous material that chemically reacts with calcium hydroxide (lime) and alkalis to form cementitious compounds. It can be derived from natural or artificial origins
