Our core business is the processing of PFA - Pulverised Fuel Ash or fly ash, a waste product generated by coal-fired power stations. Environment: We believe it is not enough simply to manage and monitor our effect upon the environment. We want our activities to make a positive contribution to the net wellbeing of the planet. By recycling fly ash, we are actually creating a portfolio of new raw materials and recycled minerals.

The RockTron patented PFA beneficiation process is both clean and contained. It produces no waste stream. Furthermore, as there are effectively hundreds of years of PFA available for recycling in landfill sites throughout the world – the RockTron process is a long term solution to PFA waste utilisation.

The RockTron alumino-silicate materials are inert. They do not contaminate the environment and they lessen the need for environmentally depleting natural mineral extraction. Consequently, RockTron’s minerals can be actively used to manufacture products in a more environmentally acceptable and cost-effective way. This enables other companies and the public at large to share in the corporate and social benefits RockTron can offer and pass them on to others.

Our plants are located immediately next to the power stations they serve to minimise transport impacts. They gather rainwater and reuse it to provide basic amenities to reduce our total resource usage and hence our carbon footprint. We strive to ensure we are energy efficient in all our activities, maximise recycling and minimise waste generation. We are constantly seeking out new ways to improve our current performance.
