After two decades of development and determination in the face of considerable skepticism, RockTron’s new eco-mineral processing plant is now online. Over and above significant environmental benefits, RockTron can now offer a range of superior eco-minerals that deliver both on quality and price!

RockTron is a world leader in innovative recycling technology, transforming coal-fired power station waste (fly ash or PFA – pulverised fuel ash) into valuable, eco-minerals on an industrial scale. Our first UK plant will process 800,000 tons of fly ash annually for the next 20+ years. Unlike other technologies, RockTron’s new plant is designed to process 100% of both fresh and stockpiled fly ash, representing a fundamental advantage over its competitors. RockTron has, in effect, solved the problems of large-scale waste storage and removal, aiding site remediation and conservation of natural resources.

RockTron’s proprietary process offers for the first time a consistent, year-round supply of high quality products including glass spheres ranging in particle size from <1 to 100 micron, high purity coke (coal without volatiles), cenospheres and spherical magnetite. RockTron has successfully resolved many of the issues traditionally associated with the use of unbeneficiated fly ash, namely: high carbon content, variable quality and seasonal fluctuations in supply.

Unlike ordinary fly ash, RockTron products typically have less than 2% LOI, are manufactured to a consistent high quality and are available in constant supply - all year round.
