The recent huge spillage of fly ash in the USA at the Kingston Fossil Plant located on Watts Bar reservoir on the Tennessee river has thrown the storage of fly ash into the glare of the environmental spotlight. The US has over 1,300 dumps storing billions of tonnes of fly ash waste and the total volume keeps increasing year on year.
